Radon
"Next to smoking, radon is the second leading contributor to lung cancer." (U.S. EPA)
Radon naturally occurs in the soil produced by natural radioactive decay. Radon is odorless, colorless and only harmful in high concentrations. According to a recent EPA report, the soil in Eastern and Middle Tennessee are found to have fairly high amounts of this gas. The good thing is that eradication is fairly simple, and in most cases can be done by the homeowner. EPA recommends having your home tested for radon.
